Avatar- The Last Airbender
I just finished watching the final episode (late, I know) and I think it's an awesome animation.
The story line is a little weird, if I may say so myself.
I don't really know how to start this cos my creative juices are, I think, left in school. So, I'll just go with whatever I have and we'll take it from there.
I think that the series is a good idea. A typical good versus evil. Good eventually prevails although evil reigns in the first part of the series. No wait, correction. 99% of the series.
I feel a little odd when I compare this series to what I may say, real life.
Of course I'm not an idiot to think that people can fire, water, air and earth bend but rather, I'm comparing the personalities and the way the creators portray each and every character.
Odd thing number one. Why does Aang kiss Katara in the end? Actually, I think he kissed her more than once in the whole series. He's in love with Katara the whole time and he even expressed his feelings to her. Not that I'm against love or anything but aren't monks supposed to celibate? Or to maintain celibacy or something like that. My point is, aren't monks not suppose to fall in love? So there you have it. My first point. But then, Zuko's great grandfather from his mum's side is Avatar Roku. So how now? But then, Avatar Aang was raised by monks, and therefore is a monk (as shown in his dressing in the last episode- the robes and the beads around his neck). So, no love for him, right??
This is fun so I shall continue. I think Katara should end up with Zuko. Why? As a sign that the Fire and Water nation are really at peace. Like a sign of trust. And who knows, maybe their kids would have totally awesome new powers =D. But jokes aside, I really think Katara should have ended up with Zuko. Besides, she is the last remaining water bender in the Southern Tribe. Oh, and did I mention she can blood bend? An awesome power!
But then, maybe the sign of trust was the bond between Katara's brother, Sokka and the Fire nation girl, Suki. But then, he can't water bend. I'm not objecting the fact that the nations did sort of merge because of them but SOKKA CAN'T WATER BEND!! Wouldn't that make him a non-bender (Self-made term)? Which means his kids would all be fire benders, no? I'm not denying the fact that he's a great warrior and all but no water bending skills? C'mon Nickelodeon. Can't you like kesian him for one moment, maybe the last part and make Aang give him some bending skills? A teensy-winsy bit? Oh, did I mention he's ambidextrous? Awesome!
Zuko, I would say, is hot. I mean, look at him! The person who drew it simply knows how to make people swoon. A rumour a while ago talked about Jesse McCartney portraying Prince Zuko in the movie. This is probably how he'd look like if he were to play him.

Swoon worthy, no?
But he's not going to play Prince Zuko. In fact, Dev Patel will be playing Zuko. I don't like to say "say what" but this is definitely the moment so Say What?!! Yeap, good ol' Dev from good ol' Slumdog Millionaire is playing Zuko. May I remind you that he's not Chinese, Japanese or Korean and neither does he have and Chinese, Japanese or Korean ancestry. Know what I mean? But it doesn't matter, I suppose. Both Prince Zuko and Dev Patel do have a few things in common. Like for example they're both Asian (except for the fact that Dev was born in England, but you know what I mean) and they're both skilled in martial arts. So, maybe I should just step down and accept that Dev will play Zuko but sorry Dev, no swoons for you.
I have a feeling this post is a little longer than I expected it to be. But if you've read this far, congratulations and give yourself a pat on the back. You deserve it. Oh, and raid the fridge for a square of chocolate or a scoop of ice-cream as a reward. See, I reward you if you manage to continue reading. Nice, am I not?
I think I've run out of ideas.
I know I did not elaborate much on each and every character but tell me, will you continue reading if I did? Besides, the rest are just very cool, very funny or just pure evil. So why should I bother writing about them? This is not English literature, you know. So there you have it. My personal rantings about Avatar- The Last Airbender.
