Original, my foot

Now, for another Twilight post.
Many may think I'm obsessed with it.
But, you are dead wrong.
In fact, you might even agree with me.

Now, to my initial topic.

Many may think Twilight is a very original book.

The story of a vampire in love with a mortal with blood flowing through her veins.
The story of a vampire and how he has to control his thirst for human blood.

Original? I think not.

In fact, there are other books that have almost the same storyline.

In 1999, a series called the Dark Series written by Christine Feehan was published.
It's a story about a vampire in love with a mortal.
Whether the vampire is a male or female, I do not know.
I don't want to read it.
If you thought the Twilight series was a bit "dirty", then better don't know about this one.
My point is, Twilight is not the only vampire story on the shelves.
The only difference would probably be the presence of werewolves and vampires that glitter.

I think.

And the worst?

Now, where have we seen this cover?
This book is C.S Lewis' Words to Live By.

Oh, now I remember!

Aha! Twilight! Do you see what I see?

Why do girls...?

Just to point out the obvious.
Why exactly do girls scream and swoon at the sight of Robert Pattinson?
Or better known as Edward Cullen in Twilight or Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter.

I know my explanation is unnecessary, bear with me.

Anyway, why do girls scream and swoon at the sight of him?
He's pale.

He looks fragile.

Unable to protect.

(At this point, some may say that he's a vampire and he has the 'license to kill' but I'm talking about the actor. Not as a Cullen.)

You catch my drift.

I did not post this just to point this out but I here with a better alternative.

And what or rather who is this alternative?

Taylor Lautner, of course.

Better known as Jacob Black in Twilight or his roles as Shark Boy or even the younger Elliot Murtaugh.

Now you pick:

Bachelor #1

Scruffy and unwashed hair.
Pale and in desperate need of a tan.
A little on the creppy side too.
What's with the smile??

Or Bachelor #2

I hate to say this but, hot.
Washes hair frequently.
And not as creepy.
See the smile??
See?
If you know me, I'm sure you know that this is just a side effect of boredom.
Oh, and just to pose a question why.
Why Robert Pattinson?
With all due respect, please la, wash your hair!

Boredom and Procrastination

They actually go hand in hand.

Like fork and spoon.

Like paper and pencil.

Like day and night.

Like sun and moon.

Like...okay, you get it.

Procrastinate? Moi? As found by the court, I am guilty.

Add math project, status: 95% complete.

What happened to the 5%? I got tired and bored.

Physics homework: 30% complete.

What happened?

I didn't know how to do the rest. Went to school to copy diagram from Andrea and was supposed to complete it this afternoon.

Maybe I will...Later.

Add math homework: 60% complete.

What happened?

Lack of enthusiasm and got distracted by computer. *Ooh, shiny*

I bet there's more in my school bag.

Which reminds me, where is it?

Must look for it later.

Or maybe on Sunday night.

...or the day after tomorrow

The Economic Downturn

The economic situation is so bad, it even forces tuition centres to stop using the telephone.
Well, not altogether.
But only for the sole purpose of calling their students.
Who, by the way, pay every single month of tuition fees without fail.
And if accumulated (minus tax and electricity/water bills), one can make a call to Alaska and talk for 3 hours straight.
Now, why am I talking about this?
How should I put this?
Hmmm...
A tuition teacher (let's call him Mr X) decided to take advantage of the holidays and go elsewhere instead of enlightening his fellow students who, again I state, pay their tuition fees without fail.
What happens it that an innocent girl (me) who is running late for tuition, receives a text message from a friend saying that there is no tuition tonight.
How did she find out?
A friend who went there early to secure nice seats away from the frigid cold air.
A friend whose parents sacrificed time and money to send their daughter to tuition so she could gain knowledge and who knows, find a cure for cancer in the near future.
So, friend (I shall call her friend, you know who you are) walked up the stairs and to her horror, saw that class is CANCELLED!
*unanimous gasp*
I know.
Where is the justice?
Can't Big-Shot-Tuition-Centre call up their students?
If it really is too expensive, then shorten your call:
"No tuition today. Replace tomorrow morning at 9.30 am. Kthxbai."
See, short and simple.
So now if innocent girl (me) and innocent girl's friend (E) had no cell phones, we would probably end up just like poor friend.
I feel for her.
Maybe I should make it up to her.
Chia her makan or something.
On second thought.... tak jadi lah.
Talking about cell phones, do you see how important cell phones are today?
Cell phones live up to their names.
Cell- the basic unit of life.
Cell phone- the basic unit of life for every teenager.
Without it, teenagers would probably cease to exist.
*sound in background* LAME..
I heard that!

Decisions

As most of us are aware, Kris won American Idol -insert number here-.
But Malaysians had no say over the results.
Maklumlah, we can't vote.
So, thanks to Hitz.fm, Malaysians now have a say in this pressing matter.
I decided to head over to Hitz.fm's website to vote.
They were so kind to let us hear a snippet of the song,
No Boundaries.
First, I heard Adam's version. Hmmm.. Not bad.
Then I heard Kris' version. Okay...
Time to vote.
I decided to choose Adam over Kris.
I based my judgement on the fact that Adam's voice is extraordinary.
Not many can reach that note and sound good at the same time.
Kris' voice, on the other hand, is normal.
Very normal.
So normal, I think I hear that kind of voice so often.
Too often, in fact.
So I submitted my vote.
Then my sister came along.
And she wanted to vote for Kris.
Fine, I said. And she clicked the "Kris" option.
3 seconds later, we were 'disagreeing' on each others option.
To settle the matter, my mum came down.
She heard both versions and made her decision.
She sat down, move the cursor. And clicked....

Man vs Nature

Gawai=Kampung
Every Gawai night, the Community Hall in the kampung will be filled. There's always space in the middle of the hall. That space, I shall call "The Dance Floor".
But the Dance Floor is not the main point.
My point is the usual thing that they do there is to karaoke.
We are all aware that some people are not gifted in the singing department.
The first person started singing.
It started to rain.
The song ended and the second person went up to sing.
A flash of lightning.
Then the singing stopped for a while to make way for the prize-giving ceremony.
The rain stopped. The wind blew and the smell of damp grass filled the air.
Half an hour later, the singing started again.
This time, the music was louder as the singer was accompanied by the live band.
The drummer banged (yes, I said banged) the drums.
The guitarist showed no mercy.
The pianist well, played the keyboard.
The singer, erm, entertained?
I'm not so sure. I was busy worrying over my poor ears.
The music was so loud, my sister and I had to resort to typing messages on the handphone.
One of the messages said something about the singing brought the rain..bla..bla..
Nature vs Man. Who would win?
Suddenly, there was no electricity.
Nature won.
