"You know what hurt at that time? The fact that I held my tongue and didn't retort or try blaming other people. The fact that I took the blame and admitted my mistakes. The fact that she dismissed it all for sweet-talk and lies. The fact that the truth was worthless in her eyes and everything I fought so hard to keep came crumbling down in front of me. What hurt was that I fought so hard to respect her decision and not question it. And of all things, I questioned my credibility. I questioned both man and God. I blamed man for not being understanding. Most of all, I blamed God for not preserving me from this kind of hurt."
