Trailers

As you've noticed, I've moved on from being a Twilight critic to an Avatar- The Last Airbender critic. Last night I saw the trailer for The Last Airbender and was soooo disappointed. Let me list down the most heartbreaking of all disappointments. The order is of no particular arrangement.

1. Prince Zuko is bleh.. Does M. Night Shyamalan not know that there has to be one swoon-worthy guy in every show? In the cartoon, no one really swoons over Sokka except Ty Lee who openly says "He's cute!". Even Suki doesn't like him until she finds the 'cute' side of him. So there! Which leaves the only other swoon-worthy person to be.... Prince Zuko. D-uh! In the cartoon, everyone goes gaga over Zuzu. Example, when they play volleyball in Ember Island and he.. uh.. never mind. All the girls on the beach were, how do I put it? Staring? Oh yeah, they were.. Point clear?

2. The scar on Dev Patel a.k.a Prince Zuko does not look like a scar!! Seriously, go watch the trailer and tell me if you see a scar. To me, it didn't look like someone (*cough*hisfather*cough*) challenged him to an Agni Kai and then 'marked' Zuko. Nooo.. it looked more like Katara hit him with a water whip. Or he got punched by Sokka. Either way, it looks like a bruise on his eye. Or maybe the makeup artist couldn't get the burn marks to look real cos he's uh..dark? I mean, I know when I get like a bite or something on my face and it has to turn red, I don't see it. Because why? Brown swallows Red whole and it doesn't even chew! See my point?

3. Knowing M. Night, he has a reputation of not finishing a movie properly. I have a sinking feeling that he'd put in his trademark idon'tfinishmoviesproperly in this movie. I'm thinking that he'd probably go for an ending like blablabla..crown Zuko Fire Lord..blablabla..world at peace..blabla then some kind of enemy would escape and we'd only see an empty prison cell or a secret meeting to overthrow the Fire Nation.

4. Why is Sokka and Katara fair? Not that I have a problem with skin colour. But being from the Water Tribe, they're supposed to have darker skin tones. Like Asian! A little tan. Not pale white. Pale white's for Fire and Air. That's how the people in the marketplace recognised that the Water Tribe siblings were obviously Water people.

5. Where's Toph? I didn't see her name in the cast list in imdb and was wondering if they left her out. Or did I misread it. Please check again then let me know, k? If there is no mention of her then I can safely assume she's not in the movie. Who's gonna teach Aang Earthbending? The Boulder? King Bhumi? Even Momo makes an appearance somewhere in the movie, why doesn't Toph?

I think I will go crazy in the cinema if I do watch it. I have a sinking feeling that I would end up crying cos the movie was so badly directed. I don't think I want to watch cos I'm afraid it would be so disappointing and then traumatising me to not watch any movies taken from books or cartoon.

So now my only hope is that the movie of Artemis Fowl is not disappointing or lame or anything between the ranks of youbastardsruinedthebook and omgmyeyes. Apparently the director want to "change the ending". Maybe he'll make Arty fall in love with Minerva!! Oh joy! *happy dance*

Seeing that I've been ranting a lot these few days, I've decided to take a break and rest my poor head from the horrors of life like turning a watchable cartoon into a horrible movie. So, I'm going to the kampung for 2 days and I'll be back on Friday. Till then, toodles (=

As you may notice, I have no 'creative idea' for a title. It just seems to strain my poor brain to even think of a proper title.

My brain has been positively rotting over the past month or so after SPM. I can assure you, after results (and after I recover from the shock and horror of my results), I would have to whip my brain back into shape. Even my writting has suffered. As a consolation, it wasn't like I had great penmenship at the time. So there.

Speaking of handwritting, I have lost my original one and I'm thinking of getting a new one (sounds like I'm shopping for a new handwriting). How? Well, I have to start writing again, of course. But how? Hmmmm.. With the age of technology and what-nots around it is a little hard to start writing again. Wow, I just spent a whole paragraph ranting about handwriting. This would show how ridiculuosly bored I am.

As I am typing this, I am muttering under my breath because my neighbour on my left has decided to step out of the house for a smoke. He must be thinking "If I die of lung cancer, you die too". Oh, and my neighbour on my right is spraying mosquito spray (Ridsect, I think) like it's some kind of air freshner. I just had a morbid thought.

Since I am still in the ranting mood, I have decided to fill up my time by no, not reading fan ficts. I'm watching Kyle XY. I can't help but to think Kyle is better of with Jessie than with Amanda. Why? I dunno. I just feel that way. What? You think I'm wrong? Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And I'm sticking with mine. So there.

This must be getting rather boring for anyone who's reading this. I'm not forcing you to continue reading. Besides, you should have realised from the start that this was just rants. Hence, the title and the warning.

Mandarin class today was funny. We had to say something like a tongue twister. Oh, and I got to write on the board!! (This is the part where you roll your eyes)

So far I don't know anyone else who's rotting away just like I am. And if you a) are waiting for your results b) not doing anything eg: work... don't hesitate to drop me a note on Facebook. I usually reply withing 3 hours. If it's too late, then next day la. I have to sleep too, you know.

I guess I'm done ranting. You may now proceed to rant in your respective blogs or diaries. Whichever floats your boat =D

Satisfied?

Ever since I watched the ending of Avatar the Last Airbender and wrote a blog post on how it could go better, I have been addicted to fan fictions written to celebrate the awesome-ness of Zutara. Only Zutara shippers would get what I mean.

Of course all of this would not have started if *cough*Maxine*cough* didn't tell me that the fan ficts exist. So now I'm reduced to reading fan ficts. Woe is me. I suddenly feel very, VERY pathetic. Sighs. But you know they say (who are 'they' anyway?) that admitting is the first way to getting over an addiction. No, I'm not addicted. Just annoyed.

I can't say much about what I've read. Although I have to say thank God that I have yet to come across any rated 18. Of course the authors that wrote these ficts are Zutarians. So of course Zutara would be the main focus. But I can't say much about the other charecters. I mean, some are just a little bit inaccurate.

For example, Sokka being the over sensitive, over emotional and over protective of his sister. To make matters worse, he is so not funny in that one. However, there is another that I read and it really did capture the essence of Sokka. UN-DUH-PANTS!! Heh..

I'm not sure if it's the same fict or not but Zutara fought just a little too much. It was just too lame so I stopped reading. Believe me. The pattern was fight, make up, fight, make up. BORING!!

Another (or was it the same one?) was that Toph was very attached to Zuko and Zuko to Toph. Something about a (sane) sister he always wanted. What is that all about?

I have to say that the funniest is this one still in the early planning process. Something about the Avatar being like a three minute instant noodle *cough* Can't say much about that.

Another (probably the same), Mai throwing herself all over Zuko where Katara unleashes her fury and punches her in the face warning her to stay away from her fiance was it? Something like that.

Iroh being some manipulative weirdo forcing Zutara to happen as a sign of peace to the world.

Oh, and something about turtle ducks trying to take over the world. I'm confused. Reason is that I read fast (or more accurately skim through) the whole story. So, yeah..

Ps: I can't really tell if I'm a full blown Zutarian but I can say that the creators were definitely on like drugs or something cos there were obvious hints that Zutara was real. Just that typical kids show, the hero just HAS to get the girl he was crushing on in the begining of the show. So there. Grrr..
