Close Your Eyes and Count to Ten

Close Your Eyes and Count to Ten- Grouplove

I am finally with internet connection. However, sharing with 4 other people (as much as I love them so) can put a strain on my natural need for high speed internet connection for my blogging and Tumblr purposes. So if you want to catch me online for a Skype chat or just regular Facebook chat, I'll be online after 12am.

It's nearly the end of the second month of the year and life as a university student in all honesty is not worth all the hype. It's just a congregation of young adults minus the maturity factor. Being in the MPharm program is basically a sure-fire method of being rendered invisible to everyone else. Our intake was so early in the year and with only 60 people per batch, no one even knew we were having orientation. We're always having class test in which marks are accumulated towards our final grade so we're always nerding in the library. And the best part? We're technically "not students of IMU" but of UoS. Because it's a twinning program so our syllabus comes from UoS. Our breaks are also similar to theirs so when others have break, we don't. Which of course, sucks.

But enough ranting, I am back from my hiatus and perhaps going back to blogging will get my creative juices flowing once more. Which reminds me, I can cross off one item from my list of things to do today:
1. Reorganize closet
2. Study for Chemistry test
3. Blog

There we go. Now to tackle the other two things on my list. Cheerio!

I Wish I Was Special

Creep- Radiohead

I really wish I could blog about uni and how it is really like but for some reason, I can't put them into words. I wish I could say it's indescribable and it renders me speechless but that's not it. I guess I'm just afraid to call any premature judgments since I've only been here for about a month.

Anyway, this has been on draft for quite some time as I was looking for a good story to tell you and well, now I do. I got stuck in an elevator yesterday. The story is that I went back to my apartment in KL to get some important documents I left behind.

So on the way back, I walked to the elevator and the doors slid open. I walked in and pressed G. On the way down, it suddenly shuddered to a stop on the 23rd floor. I looked at my dad and he just shrugged and went, "welp, lift's jammed." like as if it's an everyday occurrence. So we rang the emergency bell thing and called the number provided in the lift.

Let me tell you something, I can attest to the fact that when you're trapped in a large metal coffin, your life really does flash in front of your eyes. Every past mistake, things you've never got the chance to do, things you wish you could have done, things you should have said, things you shouldn't have said. EVERYTHING. I started to recall all the survivor tv shows where they tell you what to do if you're stuck in quicksand, a burning building and most importantly, what to do if you're stuck in an elevator and if the elevator free-falls down to the basement.

I wasn't quite aware of what the technicians were doing on the outside but I was texting a few friends via Whatsapp and them making me laugh at my phone while other people look at me suspiciously. Suddenly the elevator shuddered to life and the door opened at the 24th floor.

We stepped out and contemplated walking down but decided against it. I mean seriously, walk 24 floors down? No way. We took another elevator down and I could tell some were praying that this one wouldn't get stuck either. All the way to G we went and when we exited the building, we took one last look at each other. We were all bonded by our experience and for that, bonded for life.

On the way home, dad and I realised we didn't stop by the 23rd floor to let them know we're out of that huge metal cage. They must be quite shocked to find the elevator to be empty when they finally manage to open it. Oh well. As Young The Giant said "Life's to short to even care at all".

The Sun Set Too Soon Tonight

Sunset- Avalanche City

One day before the end of January and that is when I choose to update this poor baby. Reason being I still do not internet connection in my room and well, it seems the internet service provider is taking their sweet time to get it done in our house. I have a feeling it's the Chinese New Year spirit everyone's going through. After all, it is a one week holiday. Why not take things cool and enjoy the season?

WRONG. I had loads to complete and without internet, I can't do some of my assignments, do extra reading or even take time out to relax because I'm constantly worrying about not being able to keep up. So I'm currently using the computer in the e-laboratory to blog, download lecture notes and get some reading done. Of course I am still very much on Facebook, just less active. So all Skype and Facebook chat dates would have to wait until maybe after Chinese New Year.

I'm getting really paranoid updating using a public computer, constantly having to glance over my shoulder to ensure no one randomly stands at the back of me just watching me blog. So, proper updates next time aite?
