You're The Only One Who Really Knew Me At All

Against All Odds- Phil Collins

She carefully folded herself up into a neat envelope, sealed it, and waited. Because things were simpler that way.

Sometimes I think emotions are a nuisance. I find the ability to detach oneself from any emotion a real achievement. Yes, I sound like I want to be a robot but sometimes emotions are very distracting.

It's the pain you feel like you got your heart ripped out that leaves you clawing at your chest because you feel the need to externalise the pain and savor the pain on the outside. You scream and cry but everything you do would not reduce the amount of pain and hurt you feel.

You hold your warm mug, filled with your favorite cocoa drink and all you can think about is smashing it on the floor because that's how broken you are. You find pens strewn across your study table and all you want to do is snap each and every pen in half because you're that angry.

You know that doing all that won't help in solving anything and that is why you don't do anything. You just stare out and wonder when will all this pain subside.

Someone taps your shoulder and you step out of this trance. You put on a smile- a mask- because no one must know how damaged you really are inside.

He Doesn't Build Ships, He Has No Use For Sails

My Boy Builds Coffins- Florence and the Machine

I think I should take a nap but I woke up at 10am. I don't think that warrants for a nap. Also while Sunday is supposedly resting day, I did not create the entire universe, so I don't get a 'day of rest'. I think I've royally screwed up my biological clock. So here's a letter from my body to me.

"Dear Abigail,
You're not getting any younger. You're not even that young, to begin with. So take care of your body and get enough sleep.

Lots of love,
the rest of your body.

PS: Your eyes are at half mast already. Just take a nap. A quick one."

I'm going to obey my body and just take a nap.

I'll Be Right Beside You Dear

Run- Snow Patrol

Let me tell you a little something about fate or destiny. It is when something utterly unexpected happens and it is a product of the choice you made. It becomes more special when it was because you trusted your gut and threw caution into the wind.

I'd like to think that there's an alternate universe where another me made a different decision and is currently living a different life. But this is the thing, if there really is an alternate universe with another me, then that me is no longer me because over the years, I have made many decisions and each time, they ultimately alter the course of my life. So I'd say that after 21 years, the only similarity the so-called alternate universe Abigail has with me here is that we share the same name.

But enough of theories. I'm just saying that I've made many friends through strange circumstances and the best part? All my best friends have a story of how we met or how we bonded. We may have met through formal occasions but why we became best friends, now that's a story worth telling.

So if you consider me your best friend, think of one time we had an epic moment together- be it online or in person and I can guarantee you'll be very nostalgic.
