Who We Are- Imagine Dragons
It has become painfully obvious that blogging is no longer a priority. In fact, it's so far down the list that I now don't even know where to begin.
2014 to me was the year I could leave my baggage behind and start anew- fresh. Why not 2013, you ask? Good question. 2013 was supposed to be my year to begin again. It was the year I started university and the year I felt open to change.
But things changed and to put things into perspective, I felt broken, beaten and to speak proverbially, my wings felt clipped. I didn't feel like flying and what more soaring. I felt tired, angry, alone, confused and generally weary all around. Of course most people who surrounded me never knew this. I always wore a mask and that mask became part and parcel of the 2013 me.
It's a bit too late to start talking about the "13 things I did in 2013" or my "New Year's resolution for 2014". Since it's already almost the end of February, I suppose it is time for me to start writing again. I am not pleased with this piece but this is the one that will help me write again. Words seem to fail me and I don't like the thought of that. I tried to blog but every single post (currently residing in 'drafts') seemed too dark and almost "emo", which made me angry at myself. I want to be able to write like a weaver weaves a cloth. Each thread chosen and added carefully to create a beautiful tapestry. That is what I what I want.
I shall now stop here and resume painting my nails.

Just One Yesterday- Fall Out Boy
I had a conversation with a friend and we asked: what is love?
Having been loved and in love, the definition definitely varied along the way. But rediscovering myself and the Bible, the answers have always been right in front of me.
Paul, in his letter to the Corinthians speaks of love and what defines love. He says:
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." - 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
In every wedding, this verse will always be quoted and I've always thought, "But of course they'd read this verse. The word 'love' is repeated like a gazillion times. Duh."
But that's where I'm wrong. The verse defines and describes love. We struggle to characterize love but the answer has never been so obvious. So to those asking what is love, here's my answer.
A person loves you when they are patient and kind. They do not envy your success neither to they boast and is conceited. They're not rude, not easily angered and they keep no record of wrongs. They do not like evil but rejoice in what's right. They will endure anything and everything that comes, ever ready to believe the best of every person. Their hopes never fade under any circumstance.
In the same way, that is how you love a person.
And that, my dear, is love.

Oh My Dear- Tenth Avenue North
The worse feeling you could ever feel is one of being forgotten.
Have you ever thought about an old friend you were once so very close and you shared everything- your hopes, dreams and your deepest secrets. Now that very same person is but a stranger who knows (or knew) your life.
'Ohana' means family. And family means nobody gets left behind. Or forgotten.
They say friends are the family members you can choose. You might have that one uncle who's crap at small talk, or the weird cousin who eats his own booger or even that one niece who is obsessed with pink. But you can choose your friends.
You gravitate towards people with similar interests. You know how you can like the same things but you're somehow different. You are an individual and so is your best friend. That's the beauty of friendships.
So here I am looking for friends who will laugh with me, cry with me and even panic with me.
Inquire within.
