And then there was light!

I couldn't stop myself to watch The Last Airbender trailer again. And then it dawned on me. The whole reason why Toph isn't in is because (I think) M. Night is only making Book One- Water first. It only makes sense if that's the case. Reasons?

1. Princess Yue is in. Spoiler alert- She 'dies'. I mean she became the moon. And she's only present in like 3 episodes in A:TLA.

2. Commander Zhao is in. Another spoiler alert- He 'dies'. He kinda got sucked in by Tui or La.. I don't remember.

3. M. Night is great at making movies that doesn't finish properly. Since it's only Book One, he can make it 'tergantung'.

So I can now stop ranting in peace on why the very witty Earthbending sifu is not in the movie. Oh wait, I still have something else to rant about. Why is it the the Orang Putih's are always on the good side? Seriously.

If you haven't realised, the Water Tribe (they're good, by the way) actors and actresses are WHITE! The Fire Nation people just happen to be a few shades darker than them and thus are bad. Hollywood consists or racist bastards (I just had to say it. I know you're thinking it anyway). Remember the movie 2012? The Indian dude (who did the research) and his family- died! The black president- died! But the white dude who did nothing but tell the president lives! *gasp*

So you catch my drift? Hopefully this would be my last post about A:TLA.

Oh, new rumour. SPM results out on the 16th of March. Not sure if true but someone created an invite on Facebook 'inviting' people to take their results on the 16th in their respective schools.

Omg, I'm listening to a really bad singing session on tv. 'Old MacDonald' of all songs. And guess what? Apparently, Mr MacDonald has a lion on his farm!

Me- The Director

So, a very good friend of mine said that I would make a great director. Then it got me thinking, if I do become rich and famous, I want people to know the place where I grew up and it being associated to my name. Like Kenny Sia. Even he's all over the place (eg KL and such), people still associate him to Kuching.

It got me thinking, where would I put myself? Let me now tell you my life's history.

I was born in Penang. That would make me a Penang-ite, no? To tell you the truth, I don't really remember my life in Penang.

Then we moved to Kay-El. So am I a full-fledged KL-ian? Uh, I don't think so. Throw me in Jalan Bukit Bintang and I doubt I can find my way home except if I have enough money for taxi fare. So, yeah. Not a KL person indeed.

Primary school in Klang. I have to admit, I did enjoy my primary school days. Well, I was very different then. Some may know this. A good friend from primary school posted a class picture on Facebook. Go find it la =D But no, I don't think I would want to present myself as "Abigail from Klang". Doesn't have that nice ring to it. Besides, I would have to say that I was quite excited to leave Klang to move to Kuching. So, no Klang.

Secondary school in Kuching. I would have to say that I grew most in Kuching. Not only physically but emotionally and spiritually.

-I found friends that I could confide in (not that I have a specific friend that I tell all my secrets to).

-I found the joys of going out an exploring Kuching town and can now navigate through town like an expert (Kim bestowed that title to me). But I suppose that title would have to go. Ever since The Spring opened, I haven't step foot in town for quite a while now.

-I went to concerts (not as cool as Ne-Yo's but wattodo..), parties, beaches, fieldtrips and adventures in Kuching.

-I have a freaking park with a freaking large statue of Cheng Ho just 500 metres away from my house. Beat that =D

I wouldn't know where I will go after I get my results. Maybe I'll just go back to KL. Maybe one day I'll travel the world. Maybe one day I'll migrate somewhere. But one thing's for sure. I would most definitely come back to Kuching because for some reason, Kuching is home. So there.

ps: Another friend said that I'ver secretive and that if she'd 'kumpul' all my friends and ask them to spill my secrets, she would find out all the skeletons in my closet. True?

Trailers

As you've noticed, I've moved on from being a Twilight critic to an Avatar- The Last Airbender critic. Last night I saw the trailer for The Last Airbender and was soooo disappointed. Let me list down the most heartbreaking of all disappointments. The order is of no particular arrangement.

1. Prince Zuko is bleh.. Does M. Night Shyamalan not know that there has to be one swoon-worthy guy in every show? In the cartoon, no one really swoons over Sokka except Ty Lee who openly says "He's cute!". Even Suki doesn't like him until she finds the 'cute' side of him. So there! Which leaves the only other swoon-worthy person to be.... Prince Zuko. D-uh! In the cartoon, everyone goes gaga over Zuzu. Example, when they play volleyball in Ember Island and he.. uh.. never mind. All the girls on the beach were, how do I put it? Staring? Oh yeah, they were.. Point clear?

2. The scar on Dev Patel a.k.a Prince Zuko does not look like a scar!! Seriously, go watch the trailer and tell me if you see a scar. To me, it didn't look like someone (*cough*hisfather*cough*) challenged him to an Agni Kai and then 'marked' Zuko. Nooo.. it looked more like Katara hit him with a water whip. Or he got punched by Sokka. Either way, it looks like a bruise on his eye. Or maybe the makeup artist couldn't get the burn marks to look real cos he's uh..dark? I mean, I know when I get like a bite or something on my face and it has to turn red, I don't see it. Because why? Brown swallows Red whole and it doesn't even chew! See my point?

3. Knowing M. Night, he has a reputation of not finishing a movie properly. I have a sinking feeling that he'd put in his trademark idon'tfinishmoviesproperly in this movie. I'm thinking that he'd probably go for an ending like blablabla..crown Zuko Fire Lord..blablabla..world at peace..blabla then some kind of enemy would escape and we'd only see an empty prison cell or a secret meeting to overthrow the Fire Nation.

4. Why is Sokka and Katara fair? Not that I have a problem with skin colour. But being from the Water Tribe, they're supposed to have darker skin tones. Like Asian! A little tan. Not pale white. Pale white's for Fire and Air. That's how the people in the marketplace recognised that the Water Tribe siblings were obviously Water people.

5. Where's Toph? I didn't see her name in the cast list in imdb and was wondering if they left her out. Or did I misread it. Please check again then let me know, k? If there is no mention of her then I can safely assume she's not in the movie. Who's gonna teach Aang Earthbending? The Boulder? King Bhumi? Even Momo makes an appearance somewhere in the movie, why doesn't Toph?

I think I will go crazy in the cinema if I do watch it. I have a sinking feeling that I would end up crying cos the movie was so badly directed. I don't think I want to watch cos I'm afraid it would be so disappointing and then traumatising me to not watch any movies taken from books or cartoon.

So now my only hope is that the movie of Artemis Fowl is not disappointing or lame or anything between the ranks of youbastardsruinedthebook and omgmyeyes. Apparently the director want to "change the ending". Maybe he'll make Arty fall in love with Minerva!! Oh joy! *happy dance*

Seeing that I've been ranting a lot these few days, I've decided to take a break and rest my poor head from the horrors of life like turning a watchable cartoon into a horrible movie. So, I'm going to the kampung for 2 days and I'll be back on Friday. Till then, toodles (=
